A few things

Muslings-Patricia Style.

Several Things:

1) There is this celebrate going over on http://www.cricut.com/. they are celebrating their 100th cartridge. that Cartridge is called.....(drumroll...) Winter Woodland. It is the feminine stye of Winter. The catridge has a village to build, horse, carriage. Well do not take my word for it, take a look:

I have already saved the cartridge to my wish list.

2) Sorry I have not been posting. I try to keep up with it, and to be honest, I would love to do more. Life gets in the way, and I have several projects in the works. When I get finished with them, I will post them. I am almost finished with my note cards for a a Horizon of Hope event at the Longaberger Golf course. It is next Saturday on the 19th. they are cute.

3) to make my life even more busier, I applied to be part of the Mom's Panel for Disney. What is the Mom's Panel? The Mom's Panel is supposed to be a group of mom's who answer questions for Disney, as well as make suggestions. Now you maybe asking yourself this question: Why would a single person like me, with no children in the house be interested in something like this? Simple, I am an aunt. My brother's child is not living with him. Mike is living with my parents, and right now, my sister is only interested in the party side of life, and she has two very young children (Deonte and Nine'na). they all look to me with all of the Disney answers, which is what Disney is looking for, and I hope to be a mommy soon. I am looking into being a foster parent, with an option to adopt the little bambino(a), and want to start in January. All you have to do, is when an email comes your way, you answer the question. It could be about how to get around Disney to Food allergies at Disney to what to do if your 2 year old is scare of Mickey Mouse. (Hey it can happen) The only traveling involved (so far), is a week's training at one of the resorts in December. So far, my job at Archiver's does allow a little travel, and I do not get vacation pay anyway, so why not? Now all I have to do is get approved, and they will send me an email by November 1, to see if I'm approved or not. There is already a man on this year's panel, why not an aunt.

4) Now a word from our sponsor... (you did not think I would not have a post without some cards). This time there are Two of them.
This first one, I made for a challenge on a Color Swatch board. I am starting to spread my wings a little, and this is the last hooray for Spring 2009. The Background is made from a Cuddlebug folder called Birds and Swirls. The Love is a digi stamp, and the bird is made from the Home decor Cartridge from my Cricut Cartridge. the Butterflies are from a ribbon that I received from a ribbon swap, so again thanks Elizabeth from StampOhio for sending me this ribbon. I also stickled my bird in light blue.
For the Last card, I decided that I would go almost Monocromatic. The patterned paper is from Kaserscrapbooking, cut a little smaller than the blank card, which is 4 1/2 x 5 1/2. The Purple paper (Cut from the other half of the 8 1/2 x11 paper), was embossed by Swiss Dots (cuttlebug folder), then I matted the butterfly image with same patterned paper. One of the things you do not notice on this card, is the image is in 3-d, as well as the mats. I made one slight boo-boo when I was making the card. I forgot the ribbon. Of course you do not see the mistake, but what I did to clear up the problem, was I threaded the ribbon behind the second mat, then I tied it. cool, huh? shows you what you can do with a mistake. Oh and the images are both digi stamps as well. I do not have any markers, other than your basic black and brown for Copic ciao markers, and I also have sharpie Markers, slick writers, and a couple of zig markers. so how did I get that Purple butterfly? I went back in my childhood, and grabbed a purple crayon. Archiver's has Copic Sketch markers, which are a little more expensive than the Ciao, which are smaller. Both are refillable. invest in some, if you dare.
5) Longaberger's new Fall/Winter catalog is up and has products for fall and the holidays. I am currently booking Home and catalog parties for the rest of the year. If you are looking to having a home party in your home, I am currently doing them locally in the central Ohio areas. Not sure if you are ready to receive people in your home. no problem, you can have your home party anywhere. Just drop me a line in my comments section, or email me at plogan@columbus.rr.com. If you would rather skip all the fuss of a home party, and go with a catalog party instead, drop me a note, and let me know where to send the catalogs to. Looking for some extra income or just want to order? Go to my webpage, www.longaberger.com/patricialogan. On my website, you can order products, and even sign up to sell Longaberger. You can always email me or comment on my facebook page -www.facebook.com/patricialogan or Tweet me at www.twitter.com/tricia721. Have a blessed day, and weekend if I d not post anything this weekend. Here to the start of a happy fall 2009.

Longaberger Bee

I have another side of me that I cannot hide. It only comes out once a year, and if I choose to let it thrive in me, you would be surprise on how I act. I go crazy during General Session of my Longaberger conventions (AKA The Bee). in fact, I did not know how crazy I can get, until I found out Monday that my little digital camera by HP can record sound with its video capabilities. I am going to give you this link to the first video I shot during the Bee. Please, no comments on my singing. Now I don't think I have a bad voice, it just sounds bad in this video, LOL. I uploaded it to you tube (I know, brave, brave soul, but I am glutton for punishment, LOL) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fGgFMCR7jc. (The Bees evolution to Dance Part 2).

Now let's get a little more serious: I go, because I want to be all that I can be with my business. I have not really done that in the past fiscial year, and I want to be accountable for my actions. I think that Longaberger is a wonderful company, with great benefits, if you do all you can to make you business thrive. I have been at it for almost 8 years, with my anniversary on October 8th. I have learned how to find new customers; Do events, such as craft shows, and how to get people to come on my team. You may ask yourself, should I already know how to do this sort of stuff? Well, yes I do, but every year, everyone should take a refresher course, and find new ideas on an old topic. You have to consider that people have started using social networks now, and depend less on snail mail and the telephone.

This black cat set is just in time for Halloween. Isn't it cute? I am getting one, and I hope that I would sell a couple more. From August 1-14, If you buy the basket set, you get the wrought Iron set Free. the set is $79, and it includes, Basket, Protector, and liner. I think it would look cute on a table with candy in it, to pass out during begger's night, or a party. Without the liner, it can hold dinner rolls, remote controls. Get it for a cat lover you know. I can think of using it as a sew kit, ot to hold knitting. It can also hold embellishments or inks for scrapbooking. Have a cat themed room, this is perfect for it, or put it in a child's room.

Well that is it for now. The Horizon of Hope products are still availible, and this is the second month of campaigning. every HOH purchase you make, Longaberger make a donation to the American Cancer Society. If you live or plan on visiting Cental Ohio in September, My Branch leader's cental branch, which I am a part of, is having a Horizon of Hope brunch on the 18th. for $68, will get you brunch, tickets for a silent auction, door prizes, and a shopping trip at the factory store and Homestead. It is heard this year at the Longaberger Golf Course from 9am -noon. If you want further info on the event, please email me, and I can put you on my list, and that is plogan@columbus.rr.com. To order any of this products, please visit my shop at www.longaberger.com/patricialogan. If you want to be a part of the Longaberger family, you can join on my website as well. You can also hold a Home Party or catalog party and get any of these product with either hostess dollars or as a half price item. If you do not want to have on at you home, I can show many different places to have it, such as a girl's night out, at a restaurant, or in the park.
Well this is really it now. take care, and God bless.

Nothing but Layouts (and Cards)

Hello, Long time no see. I have been very busy. I have just came back from the Bee. More on that later. I have been working on things, and this is the first layout featuring my oldest nephew, Mike. It is actually a different concept for me, as I am not used to layers things on scrapbook layouts. these are older pictures taken from a project that he made in about the 5th or 6th grade. My mom saw them lying around, and well he got a A for the project (yay, Mike). Anyway, she thought I would take the pictures to make a layout. This is actually page two of a two page layout (I am still working on page 1.) I used a double-sided paper from Little Yellow Bicycle, and adhere to the back. Then I took Bazzill basics ribbon, and place it across the page. In the back of one of the photos (the one where he is picking oranges in Orlando, Florida), is some of the mesh by Making Memories. Other photos are when he was on a water holder, near my mom's family homested in Guinea, Alabama, abd the other is when he was 8 hugging Goofy at Walt Disney World, two days before the one with the orange picking was taken. the embellishments are from EK Success (I saved Mickey for another time).

Another Double Sided Moment. this time it features my youngest nephew, Deonte, and the love of my umbrella during a rainy 4th of July picnic . I titled the layout, Under My Umbrella. I took this from Rianna's song, Umbrella. The paper is by Creative Imginations, part of the Art Warehouse collection. The Blue Umbrella is from a clipart image I found off of Google images, and printed it on light blue paper. The title is also computer generated. I wrote my journaling around the picture with Tey just by himself and it reads: "Where's Deonte?" "Who's Feet are under the umbrella?" "Why?" "Because it is raining." "Where is Deonte?" "There is Deonte, and these are Deonte's feet under the Umbrella." The layout is simple, and I used the back side of the paper for waves.
Cards. I saw a You Tube Video on how to make Double Pocket Cards. I love this technique. Jst a little bit of adhesive, some jumbo Brads (the person on the video used jumbo eyelets, and set them with the cropadile). For the note cards, I used the Cuttlebug folder for this . Did I tell you I have a new little toy, and only got it for $42.00 at Mike's? Yep, they try to fight me on the coupon thing, but I told them that the cuttlebug was NOT a Cricut. so the manager let me have it for that price. I have one more of this kind to show you.

Tip: Want to get rid of papers you kind of like, make a card, and give it away. It works for me, but not in this case of the purple (lavender) card. The pink one, not so much.
Have fun in everything you do. You may discover some talent. Thank God for those talents, because you never know when you may need them one day. I will have a small blurp about my Longaberger ventures in a bit. Just rapping up what I made recently, and that is not all of it. Geez, I should have had a blog entry in between all of that time I was creating. I also had a birthday on July 21st, and getting ready for the Bee, can bee wonderful and nerve wrecking at the same time. (no the second "bee" was not a typo, LOL). God Bless You.

The Lavander card has stamped Note cards.

A Contest...

How would you like to win some Money? No, I am not giving away money, but I know someone who is giving away a gift certificate worth that amount. Visit http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/ and enter.

Well, while I am on here, I am about to get into two new ventures. the first one is Etsy. I heard about it, and even have an account, but I never thought nothing about it. Ebay is wonderful, but they are money hungry. I want an auction place that will allow me to sell my stuff, without all the problems that Ebay gives. If you do not have an etsy account, the address is www.etsy.com, and signup is free, and owning a store is free. The only problem is when you post an item (and it has to be Handmade), it will cost you $.20 to post.

My second venture is I am getting a cuttlebug. In case you are scratching you head and saying, "Huh?" A cuttlebug is a cutting and embossing machine and is portable. for those of you who scrapbook and make cards, you understand how a person needs to expand her art.

Well that is all for right now. I cannot find my cord to post my pictures of my latest cards, and I have a layout to post. I will try to do that tomorrow.

For now, God Bless you, and be safe.

Joyful July

Hello, and welcome to my Blog. For those of you who have been with me from the beginning of this Blog, thank you. Invite your friends to take a look. I may not post much, but I have lots to say about scrapbooking and other things.
Speaking of other things, I rarely post anything sad, but I want to give condolences to the following families:

  1. The Jackson family for the loss of one of the greatest entertainers, Michael Jackson. I love his music, no matter how loving his lyrics were, how weird his lyrics were, or how healing his lyrics were. He touched everyone in one way or another, and there will be no one like him. I went to see him and his brothers in 1981 in Columbus. Me and my cousin Derrick was in the nosebleed section of Mershon Auditorium. Love him or hate him, he will be truly missed by all.

  2. Ryan and Redmond O'Neil for the loss of Farrah Fawsett. No one likes to loose anyone to cancer. I was not that big of a fan of Farrah's, but I loved Charlie's Angels, and even though I am in disput of the media making a big deal on someone who has only been on the show for one season, she did make the show, no matter how long she was on it. She will be missed also.

  3. Ed McMahan's family. I remember as a little girl watching this sidekick, then coming on his own with Star Search. I am sad that he was not doing well health and financial wise.

There are other celebs that passed this week, and were called home by the Lord, and if any of these family members just happen to look at my blog this week or in the future, I just want to thank them for their family members, and the world was truly blessed by their presence.

OK the mourning period is over, time for other things....

LIKE SCRAPBOOKING AND MAKING CARDS....

So, my favorite You Tube videos are by The Pink Stamper, and I was watching the latest video in which she said that Provo Craft emailed her about reviewing the new Stand Up and Salute Cricut Cartridge, and reviewing it on her blog. I said OK, that sounds like a wonderful way of getting cartridges, so she must have had to do something to get on the list. I also started watching another woman, who said the same thing, except Provo Craft sent her the Cricut expression, and 4 cartridges to review, and both of these vidoes were made recently. so I wrote to Provo Craft to find out how you can do that, and have not heard back from them. I also just tried to call them , and they are closed for the holiday.

Happy father's Day. I made this card for my father. It is a simple card the card is a 12x12 sheet from Heidi Grace called Vineyard Flowers Mix. I love the tone effect, which makes it more masculine then femine. this design, if still around makes a perfect card for a male on any occasion. The next element on the card I have to apologize for, because I do not know where the design came from. I was in a image round robin, and this is one the images I picked out. If you have this rubber stamp design, please let me know. I love it, and I made two cards (I will upload the other one when I am finished with it) I would love to get the rubber stamp. I tyed a simple ribbon from American Crafts called Shimmery Satin-Brown (they make a red one as well, that I am sending in a ribbon swap to my partner.) I just have plain avacardo color cardstock behind the image. (note: Like Rachael Ray, I do not pay attention to measurements, LOL, so I would that the measurements are slightly bigger than the image itself.) I will try to do better next time with the measurements, in case you want to scraplift the card.

this card I am afraid that it not my own. I mean I made it, but I as an employee of Archiver's, I have to point you in their direction for this card. the address is http://www.archiversonline.com/ . This is a slight take on their card, and it is to promote some really nice paper, and the name of the vender is TPC Studio. The card blank is regular cardstock from the store. their card had three panals of matted paper (the mat is lavender cardstock). Mine ended up with two (I told you I do not pay attention to measurements-consider yourself warned for the second time in this post, LOL.) On my card, the scallop circle came from the new Cricut cartridge, Storybook Cartridge, wich is now my new best friend. I was looking for a cart with scallops on it. I think i told you how I got the cart in the first place, so I will not go into that. What I will go into is that this cart packs a whole lot of scallop-type shapes, and it is even more wonderful when you want a scallop edge and you can get that through the Plantin Schoolbook cart, but turn around, and get the rest of the scallops in Storybook. this cart is also great if you have a little girl, who thinks that being a princess is the coolest job on the planet, as there is a tiara there. the last things on the card are two buttons on th plain circle (cut slightly smaller than the scallop-done with either plantin Schoolbook or George, I did it with PS.) A rub-on congratulations in the corner, and voila, another card born.

Longaberger.

I could not close this post without mentioning Longaberger. This month start the Horizon of Hope campaign. I mentioned it briefly in last post.

For these and other specials, please email me at plogan@columbus.rr.com or click here to go to my website to order or to join my team.
Lastly, have a happy 4th. This country is one of the few countries in this world who has the freedom we have. We do not have to endure military in our faces, telling us what to do or say. We can buy what we want, be what we want, and say what we want, as well as worship who we want. I thank God for my freedom, and for many freedom comes at a price.
God Bless this land!

Joyful June (and other Musings)

Hello, I'm still here. I am slowly getting into blogging, but not enough, meaning I am not posting like I should. Not enough cards, layouts, or even Longaberger specials. I need to re-organize. Have you ever gotten into a rut where no matter what you do, it just isn't good enough? I love every one of my cards, scrapbooking layouts, and even trying my hand in album making. As far as the rut thing, that is where I had been the last couple of months. I have now snapped back into reality, and ready to roll. the last few cards I made, I sold to family members and made $25, which is enough to make me snap back. So here are the cards:

Card #1: This is from the same kit as the purple one from a few posts back. the only thing I added was the butterfly stamp. I love how it came out. In fact, most of the cards I made came from this kit. As explained in an earlier post, I do not like to stick to the plan. The ideas that kits give, like this one from QVC, are wonderful for people who are beginners, stuck, and/or want something easy to make cards with. Just let your creative juices flow. do not get stuck on one way of doing a card kit. That is my advise to those of you who are beginners in card making, as well as those who have been in the biz for a while, but get stuck like me.

Card #2

Just another way to make with the same materials. BTW, the kit came with 2 or 3 of everything in each package. The pocket in this case is on the inside of the card.

Card #3: This is from the same kit, only this time, this one says 'Happy Birthday on it, and it is supposed to be a maculine card. the first two are thank you cards in case I did not properly point it out. I am not going to bore with two more cards made two different ways with the same materials like that last set, but I am am going to show you this one from the same kit: Card #4

This is also a Masculine like birthday card (although I am sure that if you recipient is not a girly girl, she would appreciate it too). I hope you can tell with the saying is, besides happy birthday.
One more thing about Kits: Did you know that you can take a scrapbooking kit and make cards out of it? sure, and why not? Hey, you bought the kit, and unless you know the designer behind the kit, he or she will not know that you used the papers for something else besides what it was intended for in the first place. Take the card kit and make a mini album out it. If you happen to know the website of the company or designer, write them a note in the form of an email to tell them what you did, and it could inspire them to make more kits like that. There are a lot of products that can be done like that.
I have more cartridges for my cricuts, so I will be doing more of those type of cards next time. I have added to my library: Storybook, Home Decor (my first solutions cart); Printing 101, and My Community (yes, these are the two free ones I have been ranting about not getting on time from Provo Craft).
I am also working on my note cards for the annual Horizon of Hope Campaign luncheon that the branch that I am in has every year to raise money for Breast Cancer awareness. Not familiar with this campaign, please go to http://www.horizonofhope.com/ for details of this campaign. in July starts the sale of baskets and other products, and that runs through September. If you would like more info on Longaberger baskets and other Horizon Of Hope stuff, check back at my website: www.longaberger.com/patricialogan on July 1st. $2 goes towards the treatment and education of this illness, and did you know that men are not immune to it. My father is a 27-year survivor of the disease, however, I did lose a friend to the disease as well. Her name was Lois Cooper, and she died of complication of the disease in May 2002. I hope and pray that our luncheon is a success, but the success is to know that there will be millions of women and men educated and treated.
well that is it for now. I will try not to be so long posting next time, and you take care of yourself. May God bless you and keep you, and His face shine upon you and give you peace. This is one of my favorite blessings, and one of my favorite bible passages is the 23 Palms, the Lord is My Shepard. I also have a favorite prayer which is The Lord's Prayer. I say it every night, before I pray for individuals and situations. Bye for now.
