To be eligible for that prize, you must comment on all the blogs by Monday, Oct. 8 at 11pm EST. From all who are eligible, one lucky reader will be randomly drawn. The winner will be posted on all the participating blogs on Wednesday, Oct. 10.
BLOG HOP ORDER:

Today is the last day, and I have enjoyed myself.  For my last item, I am concentrating again on my scraps. this time, it a cute card.  The only thing that is new is the glitter strip at the bottom of the card.  The glitter tape is by American Crafts.  The sticker is from sentiment set from the first card I made, and the paper is left over from the layout I made on Friday, the little note cards and happy birthday card from Saturday.  I used the gel pen on all projects, except the cards on Saturday.   The card blank is from a card I started to make a couple months ago, but the card took on new life.

All of the projects you saw the last couple of days is in celebration of many events, from birthdays to life after a illness.   The layout was for celebrating life after breast cancer and the fact that I love the color pink, the note cards can be placed on presents or a quick note if you make them big enough, The happy birthday cards (Saturday's and today's) wishes a person a happy birthday, and the 6x6 is a remembrance of 2nd birthday of a child's party with family and friends.
My advise to you is to make something.  It does not have to be scrapbook or paper crafting related.  make a piece of jewelry, a pie, shelving, or a favorite casserole, but make something.  You will be surprised that you are actually creative in some way.  It keep your brain thinking and sharp.  It also keeps you from thinking of things you normally do not think of.
Thank you for visiting with me this weekend, and I hope you will stop by my blog more often.  You never know what ideas I may have in store for you.

Be blessed everyday.

BLOG HOP ORDER:

Well it is day 2 of the blog hop, and so far, I am having a good time.  Today, I have a cute quick little craft for you to make, and it is super simple.  In fact for this project, all you need are your scraps of paper.  You to cut up strips of paper that measure 2"x4" and fold in half.  set aside.   Next take cut scraps of patterned paper measuring 2"x2" squares and glue ti the front of the card blank.   You now have little note cards, that you can add to presents.  You can make them any size you want, and it is a good way to use up your scraps.  These cards, I used scraps of DCWV Black Current and Lace and Linens.  You can also put a little embellishment on top.

The next card, I also made with my scraps.  It is color block card, but it wishes the adult in your life a happy birthday.  I used the DCWV Lace and Linen card stack.

Well that is it for today.  Next person is Kristen.  Please comment, and you have a blessed day.

A Pirate's birthday for me

I have a card for you today that will make any little pirate squeal with delight.  Again, super simple.  Your recipe card for this project is as follows:

1 half sheet of cardstock, scored at 4.5 (4 1/2)"
4 x6 sheet of pattern paper
3x5 index card for the inside (Optional)
die cut figure of a pirate (I used the paper dolls cartridge by Cricut, but any die cut from any die cut machine (manual or electric) would do)

Cut out your paper doll, and dress it up to look like a pirate.  On the cricut cartridge for both Paper dolls and Everyday Paper dolls, the figure comes with no expression, so the best way is to either draw on the face (if you are good a brave, or cheat by stamping on a face.  A good stamp company is a company called Peachy Keen Stamps.  Many people who use these two cartridges a lot, order from this company.  Get the one with a lot of expressions on it, that way you will only buy one package, which is very economical.  You can always buy another pack later.

Switching to the card itself.  score your half sheet of cardstock at 4.5" down the center.  Fold.   Next mat it with the pattern piece of paper.  Lastly, attach the paper doll.  Pop it up on 3-d dots, and center.  Last is the sentiment, which you can stamp, print on printer paper, then put a piece of same color cardstock behind it.  You can then lay it flat or pop it up as well.  I am doing the third option and trusting my sentiment to my own handwriting.  Since this is for a child, no fancy handwriting since the child is reading (or have the parents read for him) Same with if you decide to print it from the printer.  Save the scroll or cursive writing for weddings or something elegant and regal.

I hope you liked today's card, and you will make one for your little pirate.  Change it up, and make it your own.  If your little one does not like pirates, change out the figure by making them a sports figure, or of the card is for a little girl, turn the pirate into a ballerina, princess or even cupcakes if she is not into pirates.   Also change the size.  I will be honest, I wanted to make a true 4x6" card, and I scored it too short.  I loved the look, so instead of getting out a another sheet of cardstock, I kept it.  It is good to be A-symmetrical sometimes.  After all, your child is not looking for perfection, they are look for you, their parent.
They want you to make the cards for them instead of buy one.  They want your words on that card, not some copycatted word.  For the inside, the option here is to place a 3x5 card (lined or not).  write your best note on the inside on how you love your child or give a word of encouragement.  If you do not have a whole lot of money, make the card out of construction paper, and cut out with a pair of scissors some goofy little shape and place it on the card without the pattern paper.

Have fun and be blessed everyday.
