How would you like to win some Money? No, I am not giving away money, but I know someone who is giving away a gift certificate worth that amount. Visit http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/ and enter.
Well, while I am on here, I am about to get into two new ventures. the first one is Etsy. I heard about it, and even have an account, but I never thought nothing about it. Ebay is wonderful, but they are money hungry. I want an auction place that will allow me to sell my stuff, without all the problems that Ebay gives. If you do not have an etsy account, the address is www.etsy.com, and signup is free, and owning a store is free. The only problem is when you post an item (and it has to be Handmade), it will cost you $.20 to post.
My second venture is I am getting a cuttlebug. In case you are scratching you head and saying, "Huh?" A cuttlebug is a cutting and embossing machine and is portable. for those of you who scrapbook and make cards, you understand how a person needs to expand her art.
Well that is all for right now. I cannot find my cord to post my pictures of my latest cards, and I have a layout to post. I will try to do that tomorrow.
For now, God Bless you, and be safe.

Joyful July
Hello, and welcome to my Blog. For those of you who have been with me from the beginning of this Blog, thank you. Invite your friends to take a look. I may not post much, but I have lots to say about scrapbooking and other things.
Speaking of other things, I rarely post anything sad, but I want to give condolences to the following families:
- The Jackson family for the loss of one of the greatest entertainers, Michael Jackson. I love his music, no matter how loving his lyrics were, how weird his lyrics were, or how healing his lyrics were. He touched everyone in one way or another, and there will be no one like him. I went to see him and his brothers in 1981 in Columbus. Me and my cousin Derrick was in the nosebleed section of Mershon Auditorium. Love him or hate him, he will be truly missed by all.
- Ryan and Redmond O'Neil for the loss of Farrah Fawsett. No one likes to loose anyone to cancer. I was not that big of a fan of Farrah's, but I loved Charlie's Angels, and even though I am in disput of the media making a big deal on someone who has only been on the show for one season, she did make the show, no matter how long she was on it. She will be missed also.
- Ed McMahan's family. I remember as a little girl watching this sidekick, then coming on his own with Star Search. I am sad that he was not doing well health and financial wise.
There are other celebs that passed this week, and were called home by the Lord, and if any of these family members just happen to look at my blog this week or in the future, I just want to thank them for their family members, and the world was truly blessed by their presence.
OK the mourning period is over, time for other things....
LIKE SCRAPBOOKING AND MAKING CARDS....
So, my favorite You Tube videos are by The Pink Stamper, and I was watching the latest video in which she said that Provo Craft emailed her about reviewing the new Stand Up and Salute Cricut Cartridge, and reviewing it on her blog. I said OK, that sounds like a wonderful way of getting cartridges, so she must have had to do something to get on the list. I also started watching another woman, who said the same thing, except Provo Craft sent her the Cricut expression, and 4 cartridges to review, and both of these vidoes were made recently. so I wrote to Provo Craft to find out how you can do that, and have not heard back from them. I also just tried to call them , and they are closed for the holiday.
this card I am afraid that it not my own. I mean I made it, but I as an employee of Archiver's, I have to point you in their direction for this card. the address is http://www.archiversonline.com/ . This is a slight take on their card, and it is to promote some really nice paper, and the name of the vender is TPC Studio. The card blank is regular cardstock from the store. their card had three panals of matted paper (the mat is lavender cardstock). Mine ended up with two (I told you I do not pay attention to measurements-consider yourself warned for the second time in this post, LOL.) On my card, the scallop circle came from the new Cricut cartridge, Storybook Cartridge, wich is now my new best friend. I was looking for a cart with scallops on it. I think i told you how I got the cart in the first place, so I will not go into that. What I will go into is that this cart packs a whole lot of scallop-type shapes, and it is even more wonderful when you want a scallop edge and you can get that through the Plantin Schoolbook cart, but turn around, and get the rest of the scallops in Storybook. this cart is also great if you have a little girl, who thinks that being a princess is the coolest job on the planet, as there is a tiara there. the last things on the card are two buttons on th plain circle (cut slightly smaller than the scallop-done with either plantin Schoolbook or George, I did it with PS.) A rub-on congratulations in the corner, and voila, another card born.
Longaberger.
I could not close this post without mentioning Longaberger. This month start the Horizon of Hope campaign. I mentioned it briefly in last post.

For these and other specials, please email me at plogan@columbus.rr.com or click here to go to my website to order or to join my team.
Lastly, have a happy 4th. This country is one of the few countries in this world who has the freedom we have. We do not have to endure military in our faces, telling us what to do or say. We can buy what we want, be what we want, and say what we want, as well as worship who we want. I thank God for my freedom, and for many freedom comes at a price.
God Bless this land!

Joyful June (and other Musings)
Hello, I'm still here. I am slowly getting into blogging, but not enough, meaning I am not posting like I should. Not enough cards, layouts, or even Longaberger specials. I need to re-organize. Have you ever gotten into a rut where no matter what you do, it just isn't good enough? I love every one of my cards, scrapbooking layouts, and even trying my hand in album making. As far as the rut thing, that is where I had been the last couple of months. I have now snapped back into reality, and ready to roll. the last few cards I made, I sold to family members and made $25, which is enough to make me snap back. So here are the cards:

This is also a Masculine like birthday card (although I am sure that if you recipient is not a girly girl, she would appreciate it too). I hope you can tell with the saying is, besides happy birthday.
Card #1: This is from the same kit as the purple one from a few posts back. the only thing I added was the butterfly stamp. I love how it came out. In fact, most of the cards I made came from this kit. As explained in an earlier post, I do not like to stick to the plan. The ideas that kits give, like this one from QVC, are wonderful for people who are beginners, stuck, and/or want something easy to make cards with. Just let your creative juices flow. do not get stuck on one way of doing a card kit. That is my advise to those of you who are beginners in card making, as well as those who have been in the biz for a while, but get stuck like me.
Card #2
Just another way to make with the same materials. BTW, the kit came with 2 or 3 of everything in each package. The pocket in this case is on the inside of the card.
Card #3: This is from the same kit, only this time, this one says 'Happy Birthday on it, and it is supposed to be a maculine card. the first two are thank you cards in case I did not properly point it out. I am not going to bore with two more cards made two different ways with the same materials like that last set, but I am am going to show you this one from the same kit: Card #4
This is also a Masculine like birthday card (although I am sure that if you recipient is not a girly girl, she would appreciate it too). I hope you can tell with the saying is, besides happy birthday.
One more thing about Kits: Did you know that you can take a scrapbooking kit and make cards out of it? sure, and why not? Hey, you bought the kit, and unless you know the designer behind the kit, he or she will not know that you used the papers for something else besides what it was intended for in the first place. Take the card kit and make a mini album out it. If you happen to know the website of the company or designer, write them a note in the form of an email to tell them what you did, and it could inspire them to make more kits like that. There are a lot of products that can be done like that.
I have more cartridges for my cricuts, so I will be doing more of those type of cards next time. I have added to my library: Storybook, Home Decor (my first solutions cart); Printing 101, and My Community (yes, these are the two free ones I have been ranting about not getting on time from Provo Craft).
I am also working on my note cards for the annual Horizon of Hope Campaign luncheon that the branch that I am in has every year to raise money for Breast Cancer awareness. Not familiar with this campaign, please go to http://www.horizonofhope.com/ for details of this campaign. in July starts the sale of baskets and other products, and that runs through September. If you would like more info on Longaberger baskets and other Horizon Of Hope stuff, check back at my website: www.longaberger.com/patricialogan on July 1st. $2 goes towards the treatment and education of this illness, and did you know that men are not immune to it. My father is a 27-year survivor of the disease, however, I did lose a friend to the disease as well. Her name was Lois Cooper, and she died of complication of the disease in May 2002. I hope and pray that our luncheon is a success, but the success is to know that there will be millions of women and men educated and treated.
well that is it for now. I will try not to be so long posting next time, and you take care of yourself. May God bless you and keep you, and His face shine upon you and give you peace. This is one of my favorite blessings, and one of my favorite bible passages is the 23 Palms, the Lord is My Shepard. I also have a favorite prayer which is The Lord's Prayer. I say it every night, before I pray for individuals and situations. Bye for now.

as Promised...
...is the card I made Deonte for his 2nd birthday. I cannot believe that this kid is 2, I feel like it was just yesterday that he was 3 months old, but that was a while ago. The boy is slowly getting out of "Baby Japanese" as I call it, and now it is "why", "No", and "stop" as his main words. Is it like that with all 2 year olds? I remember Michael, my oldest nephew asking those type of questions, but geez, Tey ask too much of it. Oh, his other favorite word is "Huh". He gets that from his mother, my sister. Tey says that when he does not want to do something, LOL. Sounds like a typical toddler/child does it?
I took him to Michael's playoff game on Saturday, and except for a couple times he got upset because he was hungry, Tey was good child for his first baseball game. Once my mom got him settle with a bag of chips, this child was good to go (and that was after he had two hot dogs, LOL)
Well, Here's Elmo....
As you see, I had a lot of help from EK Success. that's OK, because sometimes I like something that I can come up with on the fly. the recipe is on my post from Saturday.
Well since I entered something Saturday explaining my life, I will end here. I will to talk to you later. I have to work on memorial day, so on this patriotic day, remember those love ones who sacrifice their lives for this country, and for those who believe, remember the greatest sacrificer of all, Jesus Christ. God Bless you, and take care.

wow, I better start blogging more
This is a quick note to tell you that I am still alive and kicking. I have been super busy. Well not really. Part of it is being busy, the other is just pure laziness on my part. Deonte, My youngest nephew will be 2 on Monday, and I made a card for him. Nothing special. well it is special, but what I meant was nothing in the way of me making anything with the cricut or something like that. I took the easy way out, and got one of the Elmo 3-D's from EK Success, and stuck it on there along with some presents and two ballons that say Happy Birthday on it. On the inside, I made a boo-boo, and covered it with the back of the background paper I used with the front of the card (the paper is from the Deja views "Sharon Ann, Little Ones Collection, and it is called, My Precious Boy). I would show it to you, but it is late, and I will pull it out of my camera later. I love taking pictures of my work. Speaking of my work, I entered my first contest. Yep, it has gotten to that point, LOL. the entry is the first page from my last entry on May 5th called A Mother's Love, featuring my sister and my niece at 3 months old. The little stinker is now 8 months old, and I call her "Princess Wiggles", because she is about to crawl, and loves to try to get down. She will be walking pretty soon. The "Birthday Boy", Deonte, started walking on his birthday last year. Meanwhile, Michael, my oldest nephew will have his last day of school on June 3rd, then he will be officially an 8th grader. Wow, it feels like yesterday when he was the same age as the other two. By the time he graduates from high school, Tey will be in Kindergarten, and Nine'na will be 3. Hopefully by then, I will have a little one around 1 or 2 years old. But anyway, the link is at The Orginal Soapbox, and it is http://theoriginalscrapbox.com/craftbox_giveaway/showContestant.php?id=377, and I am #377.

Happy May (did I have this title before?)
Well, Happy May, everyone. The flowers are out, and the birds are singing. we survived the winter (at least in Ohio, that is). Spring is looking wonderful, except this year, my cable does not like it. every time it rains, or does something, it goes out, and there goes my communication. I my only source of communicating with the world is through my cell phone. My land phone is digital, and has been for about a couple of years. I have broadband cable, and of course, I have digital cable, complete with DCR dual recording by Time Warner. Now I hear that AT&T has 4 channels that you can record at once. OK, I not changing for that. besides that, my parents had a very bad expereince with AT&T, and now they are back with WOW.Enough with cable, let's move on...

Before I get to the cards and layouts I made, I have an annoucement: May 4, 2009, for one day only, you can sign up for Longaberger, and only pay for the shipping costs. Just go to my website: www.longaberger.com/patricialogan, and click the "Join me" button. It is fun to be a Longaberger consultant, and I love it.
Niece the Teddy bear, looking cute. This was also taken in December 2008, and the title just simply says: Teddy Bear, No! it's Nine'na....Cute baby! The background paper is from the Twitterped collection of SEI. Bazzill Paper for the matting and sides. the panel is made of butterflies, and I forgot the brand name of the paper. I sewed on the buttons with just plain thread from a sewing kit I got from Joanne's I believe. would you beleive that this is the very first time, I sews something on a page. In the 10 plue years I have been scrapbooking, I have never sewed anything on a page, and I bought a sewing machine just for the occasion (and have not used it yet, because I could not thread the bottom bobbin, LOL).

Blessed is the name of this first card. very simple one too. the embellishments (word blessed, big and little flower) all came from the same kit, which is from Chatterbox. It was labled as having 150 embellishment pieces. the background paper is unknown (translation: from my scrap paper box) The ribbon is from American crafts.
Shoutouts:
I have not done this before (except with my own stuff), but there are a couple of shoutouts I would like to give:
A good friend of mine, Erica Rooks, has a blog of cooking. She is giveing away a cookbook, called The lady and Sons Cookbook by Paula Deen, and if you are not a fan of Paula's, I think you should try for the cookbook. Erica's blog is http://www.cincycandybar.blogspot.com/ . I hope you get a chance to win.
Also a pray for another friend of mine, Jennifer. her daughter is in the hospital for hgh blood pressure, and she needsa healing. She is 8 months pregnant, a boy, and today was her shower. She wanted to get out for a few hours to attend the shower, but the doctor would not let her. another friend of mine, Tennille, should have had her baby, a girl by now. Last I checked, the little girl was due to come out at anytime.

Scrapbooking and card making:
I have been very busy, as you can imagine. With Longaberger, and family and friends, who has time to do this? I do.
I did a real simple on with this one-pager. last December, around the 1st or 2nd, I allowed my sister, Schaundra have her way with the camera, and this is what she did... took a picture of Tey, sleeping on the couch at our parent's house. the background paper in from KI Memories, and it is called, Blue Heredity (12x12) from their Color Theory collection (see it pays to have the little tag with you as I do not remember, nor pay attention to these things). for the forground, I just took two sheet of plain Archiver's cardstock, folded one corner of each of them, and use that for a sort photo corner. the photos I had printed at Snapfish.com. The title was printed on my printer/scanner/copier, and the sleeper is by Jolee's. I did not ink the side or anything, and I wanted to put the title at the bottom for a different look. You do not have to always have to put it on top.
It's a Nine'na Bear
A Mother's love....
Comes in many forms,a these are three pictures of Schaundra with Nine'na. Again, the pictures (as well as the pictures in the other layout with the same color theme) are from Snapfish.com. the only difference in the two is I did not sew the buttons. I wanted to see which one I liked the best, and I admit that the one with the sewn buttons wins. It has that finished look. I will not say if I am going back to sew the buttons, because I did a little boo-boo, but I will not tell you, because now I think it was a beautiful mistake. the quote at the bottom says :
A daughter is a little girl who grows up to be a friend. --Author unknown

Cards....
Cards is my last thing on my list to write about. I ran with my theme of use
what you have again.
what you have again.

The last card I want to show you, is two toned card, with a bouquette of flowers. The flower were made with the Cricut machine (plantin schoolbook), a yellow ribbon (forgot the brand), and cardstock from Archiver's.
Well this was a long post, but then, I have not posted in a while. You all take care, and God Bless you.
Oh, and Happy Mother's day to all the moms

I am in a dry spell
Have you ever had one of those weeks, where you are not sure what you are going to make? I am in that spot right now, so I am trying to draw some inspiration from everywhere. Well nothing is working. I love sketches. in case you are new to the world of scrapbooking and card making, sketches are patterns of layouts or cards you can make. so say you have a sketch like this card I made in February:
then you can supply the colors and the patterns to do a host of cards with this pattern. In fact, this is a sketch that I made this card from. It is a simple card, and I love making cards from sketches, then make it my own. Goggle the word "scrapbook Sketches" or "Card Sketches" and you will pull up at least 12 websites that you can make cards or Layout from. Most of the time, I come with sketches in my head. The Disney Layouts I made last month, were from my head. There is another term for a sketch and that is the word "recipe", and it means the same thing as cooking term, which is to follow a set of instructions, after given a list of ingredients, to produce an end product. In this case, it is a card, instead of a dish of Chicken and Rice.
Disney 2:
In planning for this trip for 7, which is to take place in December 2009 (maybe), I am learning a lot about saving $$$ (dollars). there is so many different ways of taking this trip, until it is not funny. first of all, you have to get there. There is a plane or the train. There is only one passenger train, which is Amtrak, vs. a dozen airplane companies. With Amtrak, you want to ask yourself, "do I want to take the car, or not take the car?" Yes folks, there is a way for you tohave your car with you, and you do not have to rent once you get into Orlando, but my family has a problem...we do not drive Minivans, LOL. I drive a sadan, my mom drives a sadan, and my father drives both a sadan and a luxury car. every time we go on trips, we rent a minivan. solution: We will rent the minivan once we get into Orlando. We could rent a Minivan in Columbus, drive 7 miles to Lorton, VA, load the minivan on the autotrain, get on the train, unload the minivan and rive the rest of the way to Walt Disney World, except that the car rental companies charge as you drive the minivan. no very cost effect if the minivan is traveling for 12 hours, without a drop of gas being used (yes they charge when the van is sitting). More later.
Well I will post more later, when I made something. I have not posted in a couple weeks, and I did not want you to think that I have abandon this blog.
